A campaign is currently underway in order for Parkes to host this years Triple J 'One Night Stand'.Every year Triple J put on a concert in Australia for where only towns with under 20,000 in population are aloud to enter. The bands for 2007 are SILVERCHAIR, BEHIND CRIMSON EYES, MIDNIGHT JUGGERNAUGHTS and FUNKTRUST. So far Jock Campbell, Jacob Foran and Drew Farrant-Jayet along with many other helpers and put in a massive effort to build support for this incredible event.The event involves -

 

 

Another major aspect of the event is finding a local band to open the event, Parkes has suggested the very talented 'Vinyl Sky'. The band looks to provide a killer performance of original material which they have worked extremely hard on to perfect. "This event would be the most amazing opportunity for our band to give the public a taste of our orignal material and perform with our idols, Silverchair, ifront of a massive crowd" stated 'Vinyl Sky' drummer Jacob Foran. So do what you can to support the local rock sensation.

 So far the support for the event has been unbeleivable with thousands of people signing the petition and getting involved with Myf's tour of Parkes. We beleive Parkes is totally ready for an event like this, but the hard work needs to be put in.

 

 We have already had 2 officail meetings to discuss the planning for the event 19/2/07 and 26/2/07 at the Parkes Shire Library with great results and help from the community. Another meeting took place on 22/2/07 with local council members for Parkes with very promising support. Articals have been continuously in the Parkes Champion Post news paper giving support to the event and the event organisers for Parkes, Jacob,Jock and Drew where interviewed on Prime News and on the local radio.So keep up the great support Parkes.Bring it on!
